The cool breeze, lush and colorful gardens, and the amazing view of the capital city are just a few reasons why your encounter at Howelton Estate will be unforgettable. Established in 1896, the Estate sits on 8 acres of lush vegetation with Howelton House, a Victorian-era structure at its centre. Howelton is home to some of Saint Lucia’s most interactive experiences, hosting live demonstrations of traditional craft practices such as the making of coconut oil and scented soy wax candles; as well as batik - an old-world craft practice that brings to life artisan impressions using wax and dyes to create unique designs on natural fabrics. In addition to the daily demonstrations, Howelton features some fun and engaging craft workshops including the very popular bean to bar chocolate making workshop. Also highlighted in the Howelton House is a boutique where all the estate’s hand-crafted products are available, as well as a refreshment café serving coffee, cocktails and juices made from the assortment of fruit available on the estate. Howelton invites you to visit us and view our free daily demonstrations or get involved and reserve a spot on one of our interactive workshops and immerse yourself in an authentic island experience. We are located approximately 20 minutes outside of the capital City Castries.
